New Year, New Board...BIG GOALS!

The 2016 AzPPA Board of Directors started taking care of business early in January. They held their monthly Board meeting during the PPAI Expo in Las Vegas.     

The new Board held an intensive all-day planning session in November to analyze the association's needs and set goals for 2016 events. Understanding needs, and providing resources for AzPPA members to do their jobs better is this year's primary focus. You'll see a new emphasis on technology and e-learning, coupled with hands-on training. The membership team, co-chaired  
by Eric Cox and Lucinda McNeil already have a detailed plan on recruiting new members throughout Arizona. We're utilizing the amazing skills of our new go-to tech guy, Damon Subasa. He is implementing a new membership management system, which will allow us to focus our energies on developing those activities our members find most beneficial. 

If you're not currently a member, we hope you will take advantage of the great opportunity to become an active member within the promotional products industry.

AzPPA is turning 30!  Can you believe it? We will be celebrating the anniversary of the association at our 2016 Expo. The Expo will be held at the Arizona Grand Resort Conference Center in Phoenix. Please make plans now to join us for all the festivities!

Need a Booth? Registration is now open for suppliers to reserve a booth and be a part of this big anniversary Expo. Last year we sold out!  Premium space is limited. Secure your booth right away. Early bird rates end on

2016 PPAI Expo debuts a lot of FIRSTS this year

The new renovation at the Mandalay Bay allowed PPAI to combine two show floors into  one this year. More than 870,000 square feet, the new layout made the show's exhibitors and pavilions easier and quicker to reach, although you still needed lots of endurance to visit all the exhibits.    

This was the first year that all exhibitors, sponsors and advertisers had achieved their Product Safety Aware status. Every sponsor, advertiser and trade-show exhibitor at Expo this year designated a roster employee who completed a minimum of four hours of product safety education to serve as their company's Product Safety Ambassador.

If you would like to take your Product Safety Knowledge to the next level, plan to attend this year's Product Safety Summit. This event will be held September 18-20, 2016 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center, National Harbor, MD

The Safety Summit is one and half days, full of education focused on the most-pressing product safety issues, as well as the business implications, challenges and opportunities associated with compliance.

 Social Media Boot Camp - Hands-On Training for  
Promotional Products Professionals  
Finally, a step-by-step approach to teach you how to actually use social media to promote your business. AzPPA is pleased to offer two hands-on training sessions with industry veterans, Hank and Sharyn Yuloff.

Hank is a 30+year promotional products veteran. He is a Past-President of SAAC (Specialty Advertising Assoc of California). He is also the author of two marketing books, with a third, The Marketing Checklist 2, due this spring. Sharyn is an online marketing and human resources expert. This dynamic teaching duo conducts intensive marketing boot camps at their Arizona facility, Sedona Marketing Retreats.

You can attend one or both sessions. Each session will focus on different Social Media sofware and won't repeat the previous session.

PPEF 2016 Scholarship Period Now Open
The Promotional Products Education Foundation (PPEF;, is pleased to announce that the 2016 PPEF scholarship program is now taking  
applications for the 2016-2017 school year with $150,000 in scholarships available. Since its inception in 1989, PPEF has awarded approximately $1,417,000 in financial assistance.

In 2015, 23% of all applicants received a scholarship! The submission deadline is Tuesday,  March 15, 2016.
